Measurements are taken at any level of the home at various locations and are compared to the center to find high and low spots in the flooring. A 1 ½ inch total variation is considered acceptable on most newer homes from the highest to lowest reading. Older homes may have more. Settlement issues may signicantly affect home resale values. If the home has a wall crack that just keeps coming back after repairs are made then foundation issues may be the problem. This system can be used at any level of the home including the crawlspace.
